Before even traveling to India for the five-Test match series, Bashir was in the news because of a delayed visa. In order to have his visa stamped, the 20-year-old, who is of Pakistani descent, was forced to fly back to the UK rather than go to Abu Dhabi with the rest of the England squad.

Bashir was not on the field for the first Test match in Hyderabad, but he was in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium dressing room as Ben Stokes and his side defeated the hosts by 28 runs. After eventually making his Test debut for England on Tuesday, Bashir acknowledged that he never doubted he would reach India despite the delay.

“I always imagined myself here. I was aware of the ECB’s and BCCI’s diligent efforts. I was doubtless. We’ve arrived here. What counts is that I made my debut. It certainly adds to its memorability “Bashhir informed the press.

On Friday, Shoaib Bashir produced a spectacular first day for the England Test squad with two wickets. Rohit Sharma was the player who took Bashir’s first Test wicket. With a deft off-break ball, the 20-year-old spinner dismissed the Indian skipper after just 21 deliveries in his international career.

“It’s very fantastic to have Rohit Sharma out first. He is an excellent spin player. I simply said everything. It’s the ardor. I’ve always wanted to play cricket, and I adore it. Instead, I might have become a university student.

The fact that we have taken six wickets is excellent. We’ll go once more. We’ll handle each session as it comes up. hope to make a few discoveries.”

Jack Leach, a colleague from Somerset who came into the playing XI to replace the left-arm spinner after Leach’s injury during England’s triumph in Hyderabad, gave Bashir his Test cap.

Before taking the field on Friday, Bashir stated, “Remember why you started playing the game, remember your family, go out there and show what you’ve got,” in response to a question on his chat with captain Ben Stokes. Go out and do what comes naturally to you; we already know and have seen it. Those statements gave me a lot of confidence boost.”
