Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma’s comedy-crime-drama Killer Soup will premiere on OTT on January 11

<p>Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma’s film “Killer Soup” will debut on Netflix on January 11th, the streaming service said on Thursday. The comedy-drama, directed by Abhishek Chaubey of “Udta Punjab” and “Sonchiriya” renown, has a “tantalizing blend of intrigue and dark humor” and is partially based on a news headline.</p>

<p>It centers on ambitious but untalented home cook Swathi Shetty (Konkana), who devises a crazy scheme to have her boyfriend, Umesh (also portrayed by Bajpayee), take the place of her husband, Prabhakar (Bajpayee).</p>
<p>However, things don’t go as planned and a recipe for catastrophe emerges when a clumsy town inspector and amateur crooks stir the pot, according to the official description.</p>
<p>The show’s co-writer and showrunner, Chaubey, said that he wanted to provide a humorous but “exceptional” criminal thriller program.</p>
<p>“We wanted to allow the audience to laugh and be completely taken aback by a crime thriller that seamlessly combines humor and eccentricity with ‘Killer Soup.’” With an amazing ensemble that includes Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma, Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, and Lal, it’s a pot-boiler gone utterly bonkers.</p>
<p>“Through this series, I wanted to serve up something exceptional with Netflix and it has been a creatively fulfilling experience with them,” the producer said in a statement.</p>
<p>The program was originally dubbed “Soup” and was announced in 2022.</p>
<p>The director of the series at Netflix India, Tanya Bami, expressed her excitement about launching a strange series like “Killer Soup” to start off 2024.</p>
<p>The ‘Killer Soup’ by Abhishek Chaubey is an excellent way for us to begin the new year. Audiences like this genre, which is unlike any other: crime thrillers. Strange, eccentric, and wacky. Manoj and Konkona performed to perfection, and Abhishek and crew told them to,” Bami said.</p>
<p>The producers of “Killer Soup” are Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshik.</p>
