India kept up their winning trend in the 2017 World Cup with a straightforward four-wicket victory against New Zealand on Sunday in Dharamsala. After a week off, Rohit Sharma and company will resume their campaign against the defending champions on October 29 in Lucknow.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-249399″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-logan-sargeant-is-the-first-american-to-get-points-in-a-formula-1-grand-prix-in-th-750×500.png” alt=”theindiaprint.com logan sargeant is the first american to get points in a formula 1 grand prix in th” width=”1566″ height=”1044″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-logan-sargeant-is-the-first-american-to-get-points-in-a-formula-1-grand-prix-in-th-750×500.png 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-logan-sargeant-is-the-first-american-to-get-points-in-a-formula-1-grand-prix-in-th-1024×682.png 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-logan-sargeant-is-the-first-american-to-get-points-in-a-formula-1-grand-prix-in-th-768×512.png 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-logan-sargeant-is-the-first-american-to-get-points-in-a-formula-1-grand-prix-in-th-150×100.png 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-logan-sargeant-is-the-first-american-to-get-points-in-a-formula-1-grand-prix-in-th.png 1280w” sizes=”(max-width: 1566px) 100vw, 1566px” title=”Team India will remain in Dharamsala for two more days 9″>

The Men in Blue have elected to remain in Dharamsala for two days rather than traveling the day after the game, as has been customary so far in the World Cup.

“The crew will remain in Dharamsala for two days instead of traveling today. They will be taking a break before getting ready for the next match in Lucknow, a BCCI official who is familiar with the team’s itinerary informs CricketNext.

India has had a dominant World Cup tournament, outplaying their opponents in each of their five games. By not setting the batsmen more challenging goals to pursue, the bowlers, in particular, have been performing admirably consistently and making things a little bit easier for them.

India has successfully chased down targets in all five of its games, with the biggest being the 274-run mark set by New Zealand on October 22 at Dharamsala. Rohit Sharma, who bats at the top of the order, has shown a lot of determination in India’s batting this time around. With a strike rate of 133.48, Captain has amassed 311 runs over the course of 5 innings.

Virat Kohli, the maestro of the chase, is now at the top of the lists. He has four 50+ scores, including a hundred, in the World Cup so far and was just five shy of recording his 49th hundred in the format. The right-hander, who has 354 runs in 5 innings at an astounding average of 118, is in first place on the run-getters list.

Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s go-to bowler as the seamer has consistently provided penetration and control throughout all stages of the game. Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya (for the first four games), and now Mohammed Shami, the newest addition to the XI, are all supporting him admirably.

New Zealand has had success against India in ICC competitions throughout the years and has always been seen as a formidable opponent. Following their heartbreaking loss to the same opponents in the 2019 World Cup semifinal, the Men in Blue ultimately prevailed over them with a strong overall performance.

Because India was without the services of their top all-arounder, Hardik Pandya, and had to bolster both the bowling and batting departments without him, Suryakumar Yadav and Shami, the triumph was all the more remarkable.
